The 44-year-old winner of 23 Grand Slam singles titles has received a wild card for the WTA 500 tournament at London's Queen's Club, which starts on June 8.
In the doubles category, she will compete alongside 19-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko. Williams stated that "Queen's Club is the perfect place to start the next chapter," adding that grass courts have provided her with some of the most significant moments of her career.
Serena played her last official match at the US Open in 2022. Her return has already sparked talk of a possible participation in Wimbledon, where the American has won seven times in singles and another seven times in doubles.
