Investigators believe Jones was involved in a large fight that broke out on the night of April 19 on a pedestrian street lined with bars, restaurants, and shops near the university campus. According to police, after a brief pause in the conflict, he opened fire on the crowd, firing at least six shots, and then fled.
As a result of the shooting, one person suffered a head wound, another was shot in the chest and arm. Two others were wounded in the legs, and one person was shot in the abdomen. According to authorities, one of the victims remains hospitalized.
