The renaming of cities and villages in Ukraine continues as part of decolonization. According to Roman Lozynsky, the first deputy chairman of the Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, 51 more settlements will soon be renamed, UNN reports.
According to Lozynsky, these are 7 cities and 44 villages/settlements.
In particular, the settlements that will receive new names:
Pershotravensk (Dnipropetrovska oblast) - Shakhtarske
Krasnohrad (Kharkiv region) - Berestyn
Pervomaiskyi (Kharkiv region) - Zlatopil
Pervomaisk (Luhansk region)-Sokologorsk
Vatutino (Cherkasy region) - Bahacheve
Druzhba (Sumy region) - Zhuravske
Sievierodonetsk (Luhansk region) - Siverskodonetsk.

The MP assured that residents of the renamed settlements do not need to change anything.
"All documents are valid. There is no need to go to the ASCs and stand in lines," Lozynskyi assured.
He also denied information about the significant costs of renaming during the war.
