The end of the work week is accompanied by a deeply symbolic day for Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. Also on this date fall extremely important international human rights initiatives of the United Nations, writes UNN.
Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag
An official and very important holiday, celebrated since 2010. On this day, the national symbol of the Crimean Tatars is honored — a golden tamga on a blue background. Under the conditions of the Russian occupation of Crimea, this flag has become one of the main symbols of resistance, the struggle for freedom, dignity, and the inseparability of the peninsula from Ukraine.
International Day in Support of Victims of Torture
An official UN day, established in 1997 to mark the entry into force of the Convention against Torture. This date calls for the complete eradication of torture and cruel treatment in the world, as well as for ensuring justice and rehabilitation for survivors. For Ukraine, this day holds a particularly painful and relevant significance today.
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
Another global UN initiative. Its goal is to strengthen international cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking and to raise public awareness about the devastating consequences of drug addiction for health and safety.
Friday of the Apostles' Fast (Petrivka)
Since Friday is a traditional day of remembrance of Christ's suffering on the cross, church regulations require strict fasting. Believers who are fasting should abstain from meat, dairy products, eggs, and fish (dry eating or boiled food without vegetable oil is allowed).
Day of Remembrance of Saint David of Thessalonica
According to the new (New Julian) calendar, on this day, Saint David is honored, who lived in the 5th-6th centuries in Greece. He is known for his incredible asceticism — according to tradition, the saint lived for about 70 years in a hut under an almond tree in constant prayer, for which he received the gift of performing miracles and healing diseases.
Beautician's Day
An unofficial professional holiday for those who daily help people care for beauty, skin health, and self-confidence. This is a great opportunity to congratulate your specialist or book a pleasant treatment.
National Chocolate Pudding Day
A favorite holiday for those with a sweet tooth. Chocolate pudding is one of the most popular desserts in many countries due to its delicate texture and rich flavor. An ideal way to sweetly end the work week
