After mystical Kupala festivities, this day brings an important Ukrainian professional holiday, honoring maritime workers, as well as wonderful musical and medical international initiatives, writes UNN.

Customs Day of Ukraine

An official professional holiday celebrated annually on June 25. It was established, or more precisely, restored after a long break, in 2020. On this day, all employees of the State Customs Service of Ukraine are congratulated, who protect the economic interests of the state, fight smuggling, and ensure the uninterrupted movement of goods across the border.

Day of the Seafarer

An official holiday under the auspices of the UN and the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It is dedicated to over 1.5 million merchant navy seafarers worldwide. The holiday highlights their invaluable contribution to the global economy, as about 90% of all world trade is carried out by sea.

World Vitiligo Day

A medical and social initiative aimed at drawing attention to vitiligo, a chronic disease in which the skin loses pigmentation. The goal of the day is to fight prejudice, support patients, and raise funds for research. The date of June 25 was chosen in memory of pop music king Michael Jackson, who suffered from this disease and died on this very day.

Global Beatles Day

A holiday for all music lovers and fans of the legendary Liverpool quartet. On June 25, 1967, The Beatles performed the song "All You Need Is Love" during the first-ever global television broadcast "Our World," watched by about 400 million people in 26 countries.

Color TV Day

A holiday celebrating a technological breakthrough in the entertainment industry. In 1951, the American company CBS began the first regular commercial color television broadcasting.

National Strawberry Parfait Day

A summer gastronomic holiday dedicated to a light and incredibly tasty French dessert made of layers of fresh strawberries, whipped cream, ice cream, and sponge cake.

Thursday of Peter's Fast (Petrivka)

The summer fast continues. According to church regulations, on Thursday there is a relaxation: believers are allowed to eat hot food with vegetable oil, as well as a little wine. Fish and meat-dairy products remain prohibited.

Day of Remembrance of the Venerable Martyr Fevronia

According to the new (New Julian) calendar, adopted by the OCU and UGCC, on this day they honor the girl Fevronia, who lived in the 3rd century. For refusing to renounce Christianity and marry a pagan, she suffered cruel torture and a martyr's death. For those who follow the old (Julian) calendar: on June 25, the memory of the Venerable Peter of Athos is honored.
