"Following President Biden's announcement, our members immediately came together to unite behind a candidate who has a track record of winning tough elections and is a proven leader on the issues that matter to Americans: reproductive freedom, gun violence prevention, climate protection, justice reform, and economic recovery. That person is our current Vice President Kamala Harris," said Ken Martin, president of the Association of State Democratic Committees, in a statement.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the group had endorsed the vice presidential candidate, and one source said it had "full support" for her nomination.
Many Democrats were quick to endorse Harris as the party's presidential candidate against Trump in the November election, but some influential party members, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, remained silent.
