In the summer, Ukrainians may face power outages and restrictions on electricity consumption due to the expected peak consumption and potential shortages in the energy system, said Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Center for Energy Studies.

In the summer, Ukrainians may face blackouts and restrictions on electricity consumption. Director of the Center for Energy Research Oleksandr Kharchenko said this during a briefing, UNN reports .

Details

Now we are lucky that we are at the lower peak of consumption in spring. At the same time, we have hydropower that can operate at full capacity, so there is a lot of water, and everything is quite comfortable. Unfortunately, the situation will change in summer. We expect that the summer consumption peak will be in the second half of July - August. And even with maximum imports, it is very difficult to predict how big a deficit will remain in the power system

 ," Kharchenko said.

He added that Ukrainians need to prepare for summer blackouts.

Unfortunately, we are still experiencing blackouts, and I foresee that we need to prepare. Ukrainians need to renew their knowledge of where the power banks are, what's wrong with the charge, and be prepared for the fact that certain consumption restrictions will occur

- Kharchenko added.

Recall

In Ukraine, one of the gas infrastructure facilities in the west was shelled during an enemy missile attack. Following the hostile attacks, electricity restrictions were imposed in two regions, and 212 settlements in 5 regions were cut off from electricity due to deteriorating weather conditions.
