Ukrainian buckwheat producers are interested in participating in the Ministry of Defense's tenders for the supply of their products to the Armed Forces. This was reported in an exclusive commentary to UNN by the executive director of the International Buckwheat Association, Serhiy Hromovyi.
He clarified that manufacturers are interested in such a large buyer as the Defense Ministry.
"It is clear that buckwheat producers are definitely interested, as we have an overproduction of buckwheat this year and limited markets. Therefore, if there is such a large buyer as the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the producers will definitely be in favor," said Sergey Gromovoy.
Mr. Hromovyi added that buckwheat producers have already submitted their documents to the register of suppliers.
As for the pricing policy, he said the starting price of Ukrainian buckwheat is higher because it is of higher quality than imported buckwheat.
"The price is set by the buyer. And the price he wants to set is not up to us. There are several lines of buckwheat, so it depends on what he wants to buy - quality or cheapness. There are certain differences here, because our buckwheat market is filled with Russian buckwheat, and it is cheap but of poor quality. Ours is a little more expensive," Mr. Gromovyi said.
