State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko stated that no buildup of a strike group is observed near the Ukrainian border with Belarus. At the same time, deep inside Belarus, the development of military infrastructure continues under the influence of Russia.

Currently, near the Ukrainian border on the Belarusian side, border guards do not record any buildup of a strike force, reinforcement of military units, or accumulation of equipment. This statement was made by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, during the national telethon on June 26, reports UNN.

Details

According to Demchenko, the situation directly near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border remains under control. Ukrainian units do not observe the formation of new strike forces or a significant increase in the number of troops and equipment near the border.

"Near our border, there is no buildup of a strike force or reinforcement of military units and equipment that we could record in terms of personnel, fortunately, this is not happening,"

- Demchenko noted.

At the same time, he emphasized that Belarus remains under the influence of Russia. According to him, the development of various military infrastructure facilities, including training grounds and bases that can be used to station personnel, continues deep inside the country.

"As we see, and according to intelligence units, the influence on Belarus from Russia continues, because deep inside this country there is a buildup of various military infrastructure facilities, training grounds, and bases where personnel can be stationed,"

- said the SBGS spokesperson.

Demchenko stressed that Ukraine must strengthen its own defense capabilities and be prepared for any developments.

"Our task is to strengthen our defense capabilities and be ready for the development of any situations,"

- he added.

Context

The SBGS spokesperson also reminded that Belarusian units have been stationed in the direction of the Ukrainian border since 2022. At that time, Alexander Lukashenko explained this by allegedly expecting a threat from Ukraine.

According to Demchenko, the number of these units is not increasing. At the same time, their rotation occurs periodically.

"Their number is not increasing, but their rotation occurs periodically, which we see even now. Right at this moment, one unit is being replaced by another in order to remain in the direction of our border,"

- Demchenko noted.

Reminder

The day before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Belarus, under Russian influence, is building roads and bases near Ukraine's border. Official Kyiv has already sent signals to Minsk regarding the inadmissibility of such actions.
