The Verkhovna Rada proposes to improve the system of initial general military training. The content of the school subject "Defense of Ukraine" will be updated in accordance with current needs. This was announced by MP from the Servant of the People faction, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Roman Hryshchuk, who was quoted in the press service of the political party, UNN reports.
Together with colleagues, we developed a draft law on improving the system of initial general military training
The MP explained that currently there are two concepts that define the training system: pre-conscription and initial general military training, which contradict each other. The draft law should eliminate this conflict.
"In particular, we are talking about changes to the bylaws that still separate girls and boys in the course of studying the subject "Defense of Ukraine" and limit the training of women who want to teach this subject," the parliamentarian noted.
In addition, he said, the Ministry of Education is already working on updating the content of this subject.
"I have not found a single person who would defend drill training in the 'Defense of Ukraine'. And this is still the case. Instead, the study of first aid is extremely important," stated Hryshchuk.
