The United States of America may impose its own tariffs and fees on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz if the planned peace negotiations with Iran are not successful. US President Donald Trump stated this on the social network Truth Social, reports UNN.
Details
According to him, the initial interim agreement aimed at ending the armed conflict with Iran clearly provides for completely free passage of vessels through the strait during the two-month ceasefire regime.
And after the expiration of this 60-day period, no fee will be charged either, except in cases where it is introduced by the United States of America and for its benefit if the agreement is not concluded, for services provided as the "Guardian Angel" to the countries of the Middle East in order to reimburse past, present and future costs
Recall
The day before, the US military stated that the Strait of Hormuz remains open for navigation, despite Iran's statements about its closure.
