US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has officially confirmed that Alexei Navalny was to be part of a prisoner exchange deal between the US and Russia. He said this at a press conference dedicated to the exchange, UNN reports.

“We were working on an exchange agreement that would include Alexei Navalny,” Sullivan said. He also said that on the day of Navalny's death, he met with his parents and assured them that the US president intended to see this deal through, working on it “day and night.
