The Scottish city of North Berwick has been recognized for the first time as the best place to live in the UK by The Sunday Times, UNN reports .

Describing North Berwick, the Sunday Times noted: "It was chosen for its combination of a great high street, a great school, open space and family homes.
The judges were impressed with the easy connections to Edinburgh and how life revolves around the city's two beaches, as well as the abundance of activities available no matter what your age.
They also emphasized the city's main street and numerous independent shops as a sign of the positive impact that small businesses can have on a community.
