The Verkhovna Rada today supported the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions in the defense industry on Russia and Belarus for half a century. According to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, 304 deputies voted in favor, UNN reports .
The Rada supported the resolution on approval of the NSDC decision of November 20, 2023, on the application of sectoral special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) to the Russian Federation and Belarus in the defense industry. By this decision, the NSDC supported the proposals made by the CMU to apply certain sectoral economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) in the defense industry for a period of 50 years, Zheleznyak wrote on Telegram.

The resolution refers to the termination of joint projects and industrial programs in the field of security and defense, in which residents of Russia and Belarus are participants.
It also provides for the suspension of economic and financial obligations in their favor for military and dual-use transactions.
In addition, a ban is envisaged on transactions with goods and services whose international transfers are subject to the Law "On State Control over International Transfers of Military and Dual-Use Goods".
