The main flag of Ukraine has been removed from a 90-meter flagpole in Kyiv due to the forecast of strong winds of up to 28 m/s, KCSA reported on Monday, UNN reports.

"The main flag of Ukraine was taken down in the capital due to the forecasted bad weather. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on December 16, strong winds of 25-28 m/s (hazard level II, orange) are expected in Kyiv," the statement said.

According to Kyivzelenbud, the flag was taken down until the weather conditions improved to avoid damage to the cloth.

The flagpole on the Pechersk Hills in Kyiv is almost 90 meters high, weighs 32 tons, and measures 16 by 24 meters.
