A 33-year-old resident of Zakarpattia drowned while trying to cross the Tisa River into Romania, becoming the 17th person to drown at the border this year, the State Border Guard Service reported on Friday, UNN reports.
The seventeenth drowned man since the beginning of this year was found on the border with Romania. The man tried to get to the neighboring country through the Tisza River
The deceased was found by the border guards and the State Emergency Service and police were called to the scene.
"The body was brought to the shore. The drowned man was a 33-year-old resident of Transcarpathia," the State Border Guard Service said.
