Ukraine calls on the international community to remain vigilant in light of the "military exercises" currently being conducted in the Grodno region of Belarus. This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha on the social network X, reports UNN.
From June 20 to July 2, the military commissariat of the Oshmyany district notifies approximately 2,000 conscripts and sets up preliminary assembly points. Although these measures are officially classified as a routine data check, they serve as a tactic to intimidate neighboring states. The leadership of Belarus shows no intention of de-escalation. Instead, Minsk is strengthening its military presence near the borders of Ukraine and NATO countries
Sybiha emphasized that "this strategy aligns with the interests of the Kremlin, using political blackmail, which directly contradicts the public statements of the Belarusian leadership regarding peace."
He added that Ukraine continues to closely monitor Belarus's actions, and also reiterates its warnings to Minsk regarding deepening involvement in Russian aggression, and calls on the international community to increase pressure on the regime of Alexander Lukashenko.
Addition
The Belarusian Defense Ministry earlier reported that mobilization measures involving military commissariats are taking place in the Grodno region of Belarus. In particular, in the Oshmyany district, which directly borders the EU, conscripts are being mass-called to assembly points for verification and updating of registration data.
