An accident occurred in Odesa region, injuring six people, including three children, the regional police reported on Monday, UNN reported.

The accident happened today, July 29, at about 6 o'clock on the Odesa-Reni highway near the village of Monashi.
"Preliminary, the police found that the 47-year-old driver of a Volkswagen car... drove from the right side of the road to the right lane in front of a DAF truck. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the 26-year-old truck driver drove onto the oncoming lane, where the car driver also drove to make a U-turn, where the vehicles collided," the police said.
As stated, as a result of the accident, "the driver of the Volkswagen and his passengers sustained various injuries: 45-year-old wife, 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, as well as a 43-year-old neighbor and her 7-year-old daughter." They were reportedly taken to a hospital and almost all were released after receiving medical treatment. "Only the 9-year-old girl was hospitalized," the police said.
According to law enforcement, the truck driver was not injured.
Both drivers were tested for intoxication and found to be sober.
The URPTI was registered under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code, which qualifies as a violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, which caused the victim a moderate bodily injury. As part of the proceedings, the vehicles were taken to the impound lot and a number of examinations were ordered.
