The Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent who was guiding Russian bombs at Sumy region.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that it had detained an FSB agent who was guiding Russian air bombs at Sumy region, UNN reports.

Details

"The SBU counterintelligence prevented new attempts by the aggressor to inflict fire on the places of deployment of the Defense Forces in Sumy region. As a result of complex measures, the SBU detained an FSB agent who was preparing a series of air strikes on the region, including the use of guided bombs," the SBU reported on social media.

According to the SBU, "the main targets of the enemy were the defensive positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a 5-kilometer zone near the state border of Ukraine.

"To fulfill the task, the suspect had to track down the locations of Ukrainian troops, mark their coordinates on the map and send a corresponding "report" to the occupiers. First of all, she tried to identify the fortifications and establish the location of the Defense Forces units," the SBU said.

According to the SBU, "for this purpose, the Russian agent, disguised as an ordinary citizen, walked around the border area and secretly recorded the "necessary" objects on her own phone camera.

SBU officers documented the criminal actions of the suspect and detained her red-handed when she was trying to make a new reconnaissance mission.

According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice was a local resident, an "ideological supporter of racism".

"At first, the traitor was spying for the occupiers in the border area where she lived. But after it was shelled by the Nazis, the woman and her fellow villagers were evacuated to another village in Sumy region. There, she registered as an IDP and planned to continue collecting intelligence on the Defense Forces on the instructions of the FSB," the SBU said.

The defendant was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She faces life imprisonment.
