According to media reports, among the affected websites are those of companies that, at the request of the Russian military leadership, provided information and advertising support for the illegal annexation of Crimea 10 years ago. In particular, the Novy Den news agency, regional portals of Crimea, Moscow and Sverdlovsk region, and advertising agencies that provided services for the placement of materials on the territory of Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The homepages of the companies featured images of sunken Russian ships and strategic aviation aircraft and a reminder that 33% of the Black Sea Fleet's ships had been "detached" from Russia after the illegal so-called annexation of Crimea.
