Russian dictator Vladimir Putin reacted to the recent Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and cynically noted that Russia was allegedly forced to "respond" to the strikes on its energy facilities, UNN reports with reference to the Russian media.
In addition, the Russian dictator added that, allegedly for "humanitarian reasons," Russia did not launch any strikes in the winter.
"...we did not want to leave social institutions, hospitals, etc. without power supply. But after the strikes on our energy facilities, we were forced to respond," Putin added during a meeting with Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko.

Russia intensively attacked the Ukrainian energy sector in the fall and winter of 2022-23; in 2023-24, attacks on power plants occurred, but were actually less frequent.
