In Kyiv, the first set of letters has been installed at the renamed subway station  "Square of Ukrainian Heroes", UNN reports with reference to KCSA.

Details

Reportedly, one set of station names out of the four required has been installed on the track wall.

According to KCSA, one inscription has 26 characters and takes time to install. The work can only take place at night, when there is no train traffic and no voltage on the contact rail.

A total of 104 characters were reportedly produced during the renaming of this station. One letter weighs about 3 kg. And the name of the station "Square of Ukrainian Heroes" is the longest among other metro station names.

The KCSA said that the author of the letters is font designer Bohdan Hdal, who began working on the inscriptions last year on his own initiative.

The architects of the renamed station supported the artist's idea and provided all the necessary approvals.

Recall

Last May, three metro stations in Kyiv were renamed - two existing and one projected. The Druzhby Narodiv metro station was renamed Zvirynetska, the Lev Tolstoy Square station was renamed Ukrainian Heroes Square, and the Prospect Pravdy metro station was renamed Warshavska.
