In Ukraine, more than 40% of Ukrainians have a positive attitude to the legalization of medical cannabis, almost three times less have a negative attitude. People aged 50-60 years reacted most approvingly to this. This is reported by UNN with reference to a survey by the Kiev International Institute of sociology (KIIS), reports UNN.
43% of Ukrainians say that they have a positive attitude to the legalization of medical cannabis. Almost three times fewer respondents (16%) said that they have a negative attitude. At the same time, 41% of respondents have either a neutral or uncertain attitude
It is noted that in the case of the question, where they "clarified" that we are talking about a light drug – marijuana, the approval indicators turned out to be quite similar.
So, 45% in this wording answered that they have a positive attitude to legalization (the difference compared to the basic question is within the statistical error). At the same time, the share of opponents, although statistically significant (beyond the margin of error) is higher, is still only 23%. Another 32% have a neutral or uncertain attitude. And finally, the option where we focused on pain relief. In this context, the majority of Ukrainians – 57% – approve of the legalization of medical cannabis. Only 14% still have a negative attitude, and another 28% have a neutral or uncertain attitude

It is also reported that in the age context, people aged 50-59 and 60-69 years reacted most approvingly to the legalization of light drugs – 51% and 57%, respectively.
People aged 40-49 have the least favorable attitude to the legalization of medical cannabis – 21% of respondents in this category said that their attitude is rather negative.

KIIS director Anton Grushetsky reminded that not so long ago, Ukrainians demonstrated much higher conservatism. For example, in one survey back in 2016, 85% believed that light drugs should be "completely banned". In 2019, in a KIIS survey for Detektor media, 76% of respondents said that they would not use media that "constantly promotes the issue of legalizing light drugs and prostitution.

1067 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine (territory controlled by the government of Ukraine) were interviewed using telephone interviews based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers.
The survey was conducted with adults (aged 18 years and older) citizens of Ukraine who at the time of the survey lived on the territory of Ukraine, which was controlled by the Government of Ukraine.
Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.1) did not exceed 3.4% for indicators close to 50%, 3.0% for indicators close to 25%, 2.1% for indicators close to 10%, 1.5% for indicators close to 5%.
