The Moldovan government has approved a project that will allow farmers to grow industrial hemp, reports UNN with reference to NewsMaker.
Details
According to media reports, farmers wishing to grow hemp for seed, fiber, or oil production must apply to the Standing Committee on Drug Control.
At the same time, they are allowed to grow only certain varieties of cannabis from a special catalog of plants.
“I call on the entire business community, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote the use of this opportunity, because these materials are used in many industries, including the automotive industry. This is a very good opportunity for business in Moldova, for farmers and for those who produce components from industrial hemp,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
