Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty officially accepted the nomination for vice president at the Democratic Party convention. At the convention in Chicago, the 60-year-old spoke of the “honor of a lifetime” and thanked the current vice president and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

During the speech, Tim Walls recalled his childhood on a farm in Nebraska, as well as his 24-year service in the US National Guard and his career as a teacher and football coach. He also looked back on the difficult stages of his life and spoke about his long-unrealized desire to have children. At the same time, he touched upon the rights of citizens to infertility treatment and the legal status of abortion.
The politician also called for greater social cohesion in the United States.
