In the context of military assistance to Ukraine, Bulgaria plans to deploy an air defense system on its territory. This was stated by the newly appointed acting Minister of Defense of Bulgaria Atanas Zapryanov during the second Black Sea Security Conference of the International Crimean Platform in Sofia, UNN correspondent reports.
"In the context of our military assistance to Ukraine, we plan to deploy an air defense system on our territory, but it takes a long time," Zapryanov said.
In addition, he said that in order to adequately respond to the security landscape undergoing reformatting, Bulgaria is taking a number of measures aimed at improving operational readiness, implementing new programs for the development of the Bulgarian Armed Forces until 2027.
"Very soon, maybe next year, Bulgaria is going to adopt an investment support program for Ukraine aimed at supporting modernization and reconstruction projects in Ukraine," Zapryanov said.
He also said that Bulgaria wants to buy 75 F-16 fighters for our air force.
