In Lviv region, a military man was detained who demanded $3,000 from a mobilized soldier for help in transferring him to the rear. This was reported by UNN with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation.

Law enforcement officers found out that the man was taking a basic military training course in a military unit in Rivne region. He turned to a law enforcement official for advice on further service and assignment to a military unit.
He assured him that for 3 thousand US dollars he could arrange with the right people to enroll him in a military unit stationed in Lviv or Rivne regions. This way, the mobilized man could avoid being sent to the combat zone.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect after receiving the entire amount of the bribe. He was served a notice of suspicion of extortion and obtaining an unlawful benefit for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions (Part 3 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The punishment provided for in the article is imprisonment for up to 8 years

The court has now chosen a custody as a measure of restraint for the detainee. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the involvement of other officials in the illegal activities is being investigated.
