In Kharkiv region, a TCC employee was suspended from his duties on suspicion of extortion from the managers of a bar and restaurant. As the investigation established, in early June, an employee of one of the RCCCs and JVs demanded a bribe from the managers of a Kharkiv bar and restaurant. In exchange for USD 1500 and a personal card with a permanent discount on services, he promised not to interfere with the operation of the establishment and not to carry out mobilization activities against its employees and visitors.
Also, an employee of the TCC reportedly promised to provide the restaurant staff with fictitious documents that would “guarantee” them a deferral from mobilization.
The man was detained red-handed while receiving part of the bribe in the form of a discount card in exchange for fake documents. He was served a notice of suspicion on the fact of extortion and receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official .
The suspect was chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
“The suspected employee of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was suspended from duty. Based on the results of the pre-trial investigation and in accordance with the court decision, the necessary disciplinary and personnel measures will be taken,” the regional TCC said.
