Independent US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. is considering ending his campaign to join forces with Republican rival Donald Trump. This was stated by Nicole Shanahan, a potential vice presidential candidate if Kennedy wins, Reuters reports, UNN writes.

Shanahan noted that she and Kennedy could enlist the support of potential Trump voters and pave the way for Democrats Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to win the November elections.

When asked when they would make a decision, she did not answer.
It should be noted that on Tuesday, Trump told CNN that he would "certainly be open" to Kennedy playing a role in his administration if an independent candidate drops out of the race and supports him.
"I like him and I respect him," Trump said in an interview after a campaign stop in Michigan.
"He's a brilliant guy. He is a very smart guy. I have known him for a very long time. I didn't know that he was thinking about leaving, but if he's thinking about leaving, I'm certainly ready for it," CNN quoted Trump as saying.
In a statement on the social network X on Tuesday, Kennedy wrote: "As always, I stand ready to speak with leaders of any political party to advance the goals I have served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign.
