A hub for the rehabilitation of children with special educational needs has been launched in Cherkasy region

A hub for the rehabilitation of children with special educational needs has started working on the basis of the Inclusive Resource Center of the Chervonoslobid village council in Cherkasy region, UNN reports.

Details

This social project was implemented by the Chervonoslobidska community as part of the social initiative competition "Time to Act, Ukraine!". Thus, the community received a grant of UAH 50 thousand from the MHP-Community Charitable Foundation. The total cost of the project is UAH 100 thousand. With these funds, the community purchased:

- a sports game simulator;

- Piratiko sports corner;

- a Squeezer exercise machine;

- a desk for children with cerebral palsy;

- a rehabilitation staircase.

The equipment will be used in the work with children with special educational needs from Chervonosloboda, as well as Ruskopolyanska, Mliivska, Budyshchenska, Sahunivska, Moshnivska, Stepankivska and Leskivska communities, to which the IRC provides services. In total, almost a thousand children from these communities in need of rehabilitation can use the hub's services.

This is the second project that the Chervonoslobidska community is implementing in cooperation with MHP-Hromada. Last year, the community set up a rental center for technical and other rehabilitation equipment at its Social Services Center.

Additionally

The contest "Time to Act, Ukraine!" has been held for the fourth year in a row. A record number of applications for participation in the competition was submitted this year - 837.

"This year, initiatives from charitable and civic organizations were actively submitted - 151 projects. Many proposals are aimed at developing public spaces, educational and medical projects, and infrastructure in small towns and villages. The experts of the competition committee also noted initiatives aimed at rehabilitating and preserving traditions and cultural heritage," adds Volodymyr Panchenko, head of national projects at the MHP-Hromada Charitable Foundation.

The budget of the competition is almost UAH 13 million. The grant competition covers 12 regions of Ukraine.
