Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the Strait of Hormuz will remain under Tehran's control. The parties discussed the return of frozen assets and the sale of Iranian oil.

The chief negotiator of the Iranian delegation, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that the Strait of Hormuz will continue to be under Iran's control and will function in accordance with the norms of international law. He said this after negotiations in Switzerland, reports CNN, writes UNN.

Ghalibaf, who also serves as the speaker of the Iranian parliament, gave a comment to Iranian state media while returning from Switzerland.

According to the Iranian official, during the negotiations with the United States, the parties discussed the issue of returning frozen Iranian assets, as well as the sale of Iranian oil.

Iranian officials arrived in Oman for new consultations

On Monday evening, Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Oman.

There they held a meeting with the country's Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi.

As CNN notes, the parties discussed further peace efforts and the issue of ensuring safe navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
