A 13-year-old boy died in Rivne region as a result of a sand slide, an investigation is underway, UNN reports, citing the Rivne regional police.

According to law enforcement, the tragedy occurred today around 4 p.m. in the village of Snovydovychi.
It has now been established that the three boys were at a local landfill. At that time, a landslide occurred and the 13-year-old was buried. His 12-year-old brother immediately ran to the village to inform adults about the incident, and his 14-year-old friend began to shovel sand on his own.
Local residents took the child out and performed resuscitation, but they failed to save his life.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
