The head of a canceled political party, who for $160,000 promised to make a man a people's deputy, will be tried for fraud, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, writes UNN.
It was established that a 41-year-old Kyiv resident offered to join his party and, by obtaining a safe spot on the list in the parliamentary elections, become a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The accused valued the successful career of a people's representative from his political project, which does not actually exist, at $160,000, of which $100,000 was an entry fee to the party ranks, and another $60,000, according to him, was to go to its development
It is reported that the suspect in the case was detained in November 2025 while receiving the money.
Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office have sent to court an indictment against the head of one of the political parties, whose registration was canceled, and the party did not carry out any activity. He is accused of fraud.
The actions of the accused are qualified as a completed attempt to take possession of someone else's property through deception (fraud), committed under martial law and on an especially large scale, (Part 2 of Article 15, Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
A preventive measure in the form of custody with the right to post bail of almost UAH 1 million, which the man paid, has been applied to him.
