The Ukrainian military cannot confirm reports that Russian troops have deployed Oniks launchers on Cape Tarkhankut in occupied Crimea, but acknowledged that Russia has several such systems on the peninsula, which it periodically redeploys for ballistic and supersonic missile attacks.

The head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Natalia Gumenyuk, commented on the information about the alleged deployment of Russian troops on Cape Tarkhankut in the temporarily occupied Crimea, saying that this information could not be confirmed. However, the enemy has several similar installations on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, and they deploy them from time to time in different positions. Humeniuk said this on the air of a telethon on Thursday, UNN reports.

This was a public report, and we do not officially confirm this information, because we monitor this data on an ongoing basis and rely on the data from the GUR. If they report it, it will be a reliable source of information. We know that the enemy has several similar installations on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula, and from time to time they deploy them in different positions to use them for ballistic strikes and supersonic weapons such as Onyx missiles, which are very difficult to shoot down by air defense systems

- Humeniuk said.

She added that from time to time the enemy resorts to using such means because "it has no success along the front line and tries to achieve it in the interior."
