A military man was beaten in a cafe in Odesa's Arcadia. According to the head of the Public Council at the Odesa RMA Serhiy Bratchuk, the soldier suffered severe head and face injuries, and the offender was detained, UNN reports.

According to Bratchuk, on July 2 in the evening, a soldier of one of the combat brigades of the operational command "South", while on legal leave, was walking with his family and friends in the city of Odesa's Arcadia. While resting in a cafe, he started a verbal altercation with a group of civilian "men" that escalated into a fight after words: "I didn't send you there".

"The soldier suffered severe injuries to his head and face, he lost a lot of blood. He is currently in hospital in serious condition. The incident was registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine No. 12024163510000494 dated 03.07.2024," added the head of the Public Council.

He also added that the offender, who inflicted serious injuries on the serviceman, was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and is being held in custody in a pre-trial detention center.
