Details
"The 66-year-old resident of Kyiv region was served a notice of suspicion of committing lewd acts against a minor boy, i.e. of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the prosecutor's office said.
According to the prosecutor's office, "the suspect, working as a deputy head of a dormitory at one of the capital's universities, invited a boy, who was 14 at the time, to his room and offered to give him a massage." The incident, as indicated, took place when most students left the dormitory due to the outbreak of war, and only temporarily displaced persons were allowed to stay.
"At first, the man offered the boy to lie down on the bed for a massage, and then committed lewd acts against him. The man touched the genitals of the minor, realizing the illegality of such actions," the prosecutor's office said.
"The committed lewd acts became psychologically traumatic for the teenager, accompanied by negative feelings of shame, helplessness and affected his usual behavior and emotional state. Therefore, the boy told his family about the situation," the agency said.
It is reported that investigative actions with a minor in criminal proceedings were carried out with the involvement of a psychologist and a legal representative in a specially equipped room at the Barnahus Center.
"Currently, the dormitory employee has been notified of suspicion. He was dismissed from his position in the dormitory almost immediately after the events," the prosecutor's office said.
The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
