Google announced a $5 million grant for the development of the Obrii digital labor market ecosystem
The Obrii system is being developed by the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. The implementer is BRDO (Best Regulation Delivery Office).
Funding from Google is expected to help scale the system and expand its capabilities for citizens, employers, and the state.
"The funds will be directed to the development of skills assessment and career navigation services, automatic job and training program matching, a user digital profile, electronic employment, and labor market needs forecasting," the statement said.
"We are pleased that Google is expanding cooperation with the Ukrainian government and for the first time in history is supporting the creation of a digital labor market infrastructure. Thanks to this partnership, we will be able to more quickly connect job seekers with training and employment opportunities, and businesses with the necessary and available specialists," said Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Oleksii Sobolev.
"Ukraine is demonstrating to the whole world how, with the help of technology and AI, a resilient economy can be built even under the most difficult circumstances. This grant is not just funding for a platform, it is an investment in the exceptional human potential and ingenuity we observe here every day. We are proud to support our partners in the Ukrainian government, who are already creating a model of the future today," emphasized Annette Kroeber-Riel, Vice President of Google for Government Affairs and Public Policy in Europe.
