Georgia's power system shut down during scheduled testing of the generating units at the Inguri Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission reported.
"Today, the Georgian State Electrosystem was conducting scheduled tests of the generating units at the Inguri HPP; the aim was to identify and assess weak points in the system, taking into account the accidents of July 24 and 25. During the tests, the operation of the Georgian power system in isolated mode was also checked. This mode involved significant technical risks, including the possibility of a complete shutdown of the power system. As is known, this happened. The Georgian power system was completely shut down. At this stage, a detailed analysis of the incident and the exact causes of the accident is being conducted to prevent similar incidents from recurring in the future," the commission's energy representative, Giorgi Pangani, said on social media.

The Pro Georgia Telegram channel says that, according to unofficial information, electricity will be supplied gradually in Georgia from 20:45 until 24:00 (local time).
