There were 149 clashes on the frontline yesterday, almost a third of them in the Pokrovsk sector, the operation in the Kursk sector continues, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a morning report on August 24, UNN reports.

According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched three missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using five missiles, as well as 74 air strikes, including 102 drones. In addition, it carried out 4,074 attacks, including 138 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 1,249 kamikaze drones to attack.
"Over the past day, the missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 20 areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, a command post, three air defense systems, two artillery systems, an electronic warfare station, a pontoon ferry and another important object of the Russian occupiers," the General Staff said.

In the Kharkiv sector, seven combat engagements took place in the vicinity of Lypky and Vovchansk over the last day.
In the Kupyansk sector, the number of engagements amounted to 20. Defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Petropavlivka, Kurylivka, Synkivka and Stelmakhivka.
On the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 13 enemy attacks in the areas of Makiivka, Druzhelyubivka, Novosadove, Nevske, Torske and Terny.
In the Siverskiy sector, the Defense Forces repelled seven attacks near Vyymka, Bilohorivka and Spirne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 22 militants' attempts to advance near Chasovyi Yar, Kalynivka and Ivanivske. The situation is under control.
With the support of attack aircraft, the enemy tried to advance nine times in the Toretsk direction. It operated in the areas of Nelipivka and Toretsk.
At the Pokrovske direction, our defenders repelled 44 enemy attacks. The enemy is trying to advance in the direction of Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Ptychke, and Zelenyi Pole.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Heorhiivka, Krasnohorivka and Karlivka, where the occupants tried to break through Ukrainian defenses 16 times.
In the Vremivsky sector, the enemy made 11 attempts to seize our positions near Vodyane and Vuhledar in Donetsk region.
Over the last day, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovsky sectors, but systematically conducts air strikes and shells the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian settlements.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, the operational situation remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
On the border with Chernihiv region, the enemy maintains a military presence and conducts reconnaissance activities.
