European Council President Charles Michel drew the attention of those who believe rumors about Russia's "interest" in peace talks to Russia's latest massive attacks on Ukraine, saying they indicate Moscow's true intentions. In response, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the President of the European Council for expressing exactly what we all think and feel, UNN reports.
What Michel said
"For those who believe the rumors that Russia is genuinely interested in peace talks, the record number of drones fired in the last 24 hours across Ukraine shows Moscow's true intentions," Michel wrote in X.

He noted that "the attacks are all the more cynical because their intensity coincides with the New Year holidays."
"The spirit of Ukraine cannot be broken. The EU supports Ukraine," the President of the European Council emphasized.
Zelensky's reaction
"Dear Charles Michel, thank you for expressing exactly what we all think and feel. I am grateful to the EU for your unwavering support for Ukraine. European unity is stronger than Russian terror. We have proved this time and time again, and I am confident that we will remain strong and united," Zelenskyy said in X.
