The Kyiv Court of Appeal has left MP Andriy Nikolayenko, suspected of committing a fatal car accident in Zhytomyr region, under round-the-clock house arrest. UNN reports this with reference to the court.

On December 12, the court considered appeals filed by the defense against the decision of the investigating judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv of November 9, 2023, which denied the motion of the Prosecutor General to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention and applied to the suspect a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest with a ban on leaving his place of residence at the address, specified by the decision, except for the need to receive medical care and/or the need to ensure personal safety during martial law, by staying in protective structures (bomb shelters) in case of air alert, within the period of pre-trial investigation of criminal proceedings until January 4, 2024, with the imposition of obligations under part. 5 of Article 194 of the CPC of Ukraine.
"As a result of the appeal hearing, the decision of the investigating judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv of November 9, 2023 was upheld, the appeals of the defense were dismissed," the statement said.

On November 9, the court placed Nikolayenko under round-the-clock house arrest until January 4.
MP Andriy Nikolayenko was served with a notice of suspicion of committing a fatal car accident in Zhytomyr region.
The accident occurred on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Berezivka, Zhytomyr district, around ten in the morning on November 3. The car driven by the MP hit a pedestrian. The 18-year-old girl died at the scene from her injuries.
At the time, Nikolayenko statedthat he was sober and had not violated the law.
