In the 425th Assault Regiment "Skelya", instances of abuse of power with violence have also been recorded earlier - they became known thanks to the relatives of the victims. The SBI registered a new proceeding after media publications.

Facts of offenses in the 425th separate assault regiment "Skelya" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were recorded earlier. In particular, two criminal proceedings were opened on the fact of abuse of power involving physical violence. This was reported on the air of "My-Ukraine" by the communications advisor of the State Bureau of Investigation, Tetiana Sapian, as reported by UNN.

Details

According to Sapian, these facts became known thanks to the relatives of the victims. She noted that relevant information can be sent to the SBI even anonymously.

These proceedings are ongoing until the judicial investigation as of today, and after the material appeared in the media, the SBI registered a criminal proceeding

- the spokesperson stated.

She added: this does not mean that all the facts presented in the media have already been confirmed, and the SBI is obliged to verify all these facts.

The main task in this situation is to establish not an emotional, but a legal picture of the events.

This is quite painstaking work, there will be direct communication with servicemen, with commanders, with all witnesses, and both official documentation and medical documents will be analyzed. For us, what is more important is not speed, but objectively establishing the circumstances of all these events and bringing the guilty to justice

- Sapian noted.
