A Ukrainian drone attack on an aircraft repair facility in Taganrog, Russia, damaged two large buildings associated with the A-50U fleet. The strike demonstrates that Ukrainian operations can reach strategically important targets in Russia, even when such facilities are considered secure. This is stated in the report of the British Ministry of Defense based on intelligence, UNN writes.

According to the British Ministry of Defense, active air defense assets are constantly present around the facility, which demonstrates its importance. And the loss of the A-50U reconnaissance aircraft from Russian operations is likely to significantly worsen the Russians' situational awareness.
Images of the damage caused by the attack that have circulated online show damage to two large buildings associated with the A-50U fleet, which were likely used to shelter the aircraft during maintenance periods
The British Ministry of Defense believes that two weeks after the loss of the second A-50U, Russian aviation is likely to be unable to fly in support of operations in Ukraine.
This attack demonstrates that Ukrainian operations can still reach strategically important targets on Russian territory, even when such targets are considered secure, whether in the air or on the ground
