The Czech Republic is ready to supply thousands of additional artillery shells to Ukraine. According to the country's Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, 300,000 rounds of ammunition have already been prepared, UNN reports with reference to The Guardian.

The Czech Foreign Minister said that 300,000 shells had been received and that the ammunition would provide a vital "respite for several months" on the front line. According to the newspaper's sources, the first deliveries to Ukraine will be made by June.
"We have a direct experience of 40 years of being a satellite of Moscow, a country that was invaded by Russian tanks in 1968 to suppress the Prague Spring," Lipavsky said, adding that his country cannot stand by and watch Ukraine go without help. "No one wants to return to those (Soviet - ed.) times, and I must say that the population is very sensitive to this," the minister added.

Western allies, including Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, and France, expressed support for the Czech Republic's initiative to purchase hundreds of thousands of artillery shells for Ukraine from non-EU countries.
