Currently, Ukraine has no system to protect the rights of Ukrainian men  who are forcibly mobilized by the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories. This was stated by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets during a briefing, according to a UNN correspondent.

As for men, I have the same advice as for women: find any opportunity to leave the occupied territories. If you stay there for any reason, you must understand that first you will be forcibly passported, then you will be forcibly mobilized. Russia leaves no other way out for anyone there. How can we protect the rights of Ukrainian men who live there and are later forcibly mobilized

- Lubinets said.

He said that there were cases when forcibly mobilized citizens of Ukraine were captured with weapons in their hands and tried to prove that they did not take part in hostilities.

"We had cases when Ukrainian citizens who lived in the occupied territories took up arms and were captured, they try to prove that they did not take part in hostilities, but nevertheless, the very fact that they were captured with weapons in their hands gives us automatic grounds to treat them as combatants of the Russian Federation," Lubinets said.

In addition, the Ombudsman noted that the Russian Federation does not adhere to any international conventions.

The Russian Federation does not provide access to our citizens who remain in the occupied territories. Frankly speaking, in my opinion, as of now, I do not see an international system or any other system that will protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens who are in the temporarily occupied territories

- Lubinets said.

According to him, international organizations are not working.

On the one hand, they are not granted access by representatives of the Russian Federation, and on the other hand, we do not see a great desire, great efforts to change their approaches, to somehow change this situation

- Lubinets said.

AddendumAddendum

The head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Natalia Gumenyuk, stated that the Russians' plans to mobilize 300,000 people could affect the temporarily occupied territories and their population. Therefore, people who applied for voter lists during the so-called campaign before the "elections" are already "in the pencil.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is preparing to mobilize 300 thousand troops for June 1.

The Luhansk regional state administration reported that the so-called "luhansk people's republic" had intensified conscription activities, putting those who failed to appear on the wanted list.
