The Security Service of Ukraine Ukraine's Security Service has lifted the veil on a special operation to destroy a Russian rear Russian command post in Polissia in March 2022. The unique sabotage operation involving heavy artillery was a significant contribution of the SBU to the liberation of Kyiv region from the occupants. "This was the first such sabotage operation using artillery forces. It was successful, high-quality, sabotage work of the SBU together with the artillery of the Armed Forces is an example of that together we are strong. It contributed to the defense of Kyiv region. We repelled the enemy, and and he was forced to retreat from the territory of Ukraine," emphasized the SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk.
У The headquarters housed the leadership of the Russian troops advancing on Kyiv. The occupiers also stored a large amount of equipment, ammunition and fuel nearby. This logistics and management center became the target of the Security Service.
To to hit the facility, SBU special forces quietly delivered artillery to the so-called gray zone, close to Russian positions. The heavy 152-mm cannons were moved in a in a sabotage raid in close proximity to the enemy.
"It was a daring operation. In fact, a few kilometers from the enemy, the guys were preparing positions for our artillery," said the SBU Head.
Thanks to to the successful artillery practice, the command post of the invaders was was destroyed. The special operation was implemented by the SBU in cooperation with the 44th Artillery Artillery Brigade of the "West" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As Vasyl Malyuk emphasized, after this operation, the Central Specialized Operations Center "A" and the 13th Military Counterintelligence of the SBU, together with the Defense Forces, continued to contribute to the liberation of to the liberation of Kyiv region: they mined logistics arteries, blew up bridges and destroyed Russian equipment and occupiers.
