Law enforcement officers opened proceedings because unknown persons illegally cut down a twelve-year-old oak tree planted by Kyiv residents on December 13. December in memory of the fallen military and public figure Roman Ratushnyi. This was reported to a journalist of UNN by the press officer of the Shevchenkivskyi district police department, Anna Zubareva.

Kyivzelenbud reported that on the night of December 15 unknown persons in the Shevchenkivskyi district of of the capital cut down an oak treethat was planted by citizens in memory of the defender of Ukraine Roman Ratushnyi.
Kyiv City Council members unanimously supported the naming of the "Protasiv Yar nature reserve in honor of Roman Ratushnyi. The community "Protect Protasiv Yar" promised that they would will make every effort to ensure that Protasiv Yar will remind the next generations of Kyiv residents about Roman.
