A large-scale accident involving a truck and a bus occurred in Lviv region, killing four people and injuring seven, including a four-year-old boy, the regional police and the regional State Emergency Service reported, UNN reports.

According to the police, the accident occurred today, July 17, at about 10:10 a.m. on the Mukachevo-Ivano-Frankivsk-Lviv highway within the village of Davydiv, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, a BAZ bus running from Lviv to Vybranivka and a MAN train collided.
"The collision killed the driver of the road train and three bus passengers. The bus driver and six bus passengers, including a four-year-old boy, were injured and taken to the hospital. Doctors are currently clarifying their diagnoses," the police said.
The criminal proceedings were opened under Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 3 years.
Emergency workers are also reportedly working at the scene.
