Details

In Britain, police arrested a total of 927 people and charged 466 of them. Over the previous days, the United Kingdom experienced massive riots: violence, arson, looting, and racist attacks on Muslims and migrants. This was reported by the National Police Service the day before.

Context

Two weeks ago, the United Kingdom was shocked by the bloody act of a 17-year-old boy - the murder of three young girls in the city of Southport, in the north of England

The unrest began after the July 29 attack was falsely blamed on an Islamist migrant based on disinformation on the Internet.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer also canceled his summer vacation due to the unrest and the government's response to it.

Meanwhile, the judiciary took tough measures: A 13-year-old had to stand trial, and a 12-year-old was charged.

Prosecutors said a 13-year-old girl pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on July 31 when she was seen punching and kicking at the entrance to an asylum seeker hotel.

"This disturbing incident has caused real fear for the people who were targeted by these thugs, and it is particularly sad to learn that such a young girl was involved in this violent disturbance," said Prosecutor Thomas Power.

The British government is pleased that the situation has eased recently. However, it remains vigilant and will not relax, a government spokeswoman said.
