The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, expressed concern about the discussion in Germany about the possibility of financing future aid to Ukraine, UNN reports with reference to FAZ.

If Germany were to reduce its military support in the coming years, it would be "very worrisome," Borrell said on Friday during a speech in the Spanish city of Santander.
"The announcement that Germany will reduce its military support in the coming years is very worrisome. This is bad news," Borrell said on Friday.
"So far, without much noise, Germany has been the biggest supporter of Ukraine," he added. What the EU is doing for Kyiv, "it's mostly Germany that's doing it.

Borrell was referring to the FAS report from the weekend, according to which the German government does not want to allocate any additional budget for assistance to Ukraine next year beyond the four billion euros already planned.
In 2024, this amount was about eight billion euros.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung reported that new requests from the German Defense Ministry no longer need to be approved, as the funds have already been allocated.
In this situation, according to AFP, the German government said it would rely on the G7 and EU plans to use the frozen Russian assets.
In June, the G7 leaders agreed to provide Ukraine with a $50 billion loan using the profits from these assets.
Germany's federal budget for 2025 is currently under discussion among the three parties in the ruling coalition.
Germany was the second largest provider of aid to Ukraine after the United States.
